We need volunteers to run our organisation.
Committee members: most of the key jobs need replacements over the next year or so.
Organisers: to be the point of contact to receive phone calls from clients and then find the right helper to do the job.
WHAT WORK IS INVOLVED?
Committee jobs:
Chair: leadership, long term planning, external communications, chairing AGM and 4 committee meetings per year.
Secretary: General administration, help with external contacts, DBS checks for new volunteers, internal communications, meetings preparation, social events.
Co-ordinator: leads and manages the transport and shopper organiser rota, keeps records of journeys undertaken, shopping and home visits, updates organisers andcommittee on any relevant issues e.g. hospital parking.
Communications manager (new job): leaflet design and distribution, updating website, writing news stories, managing media opportunities, e.g. our (future)
Facebook page.
(Treasurer: manages the accounts, receives donations and pays out expenses. Job currently secured.)
Organisers:
You will be part of a group to be the first point of contact and take charge of
receiving phone calls requesting help and finding appropriate drivers and shoppers. This will entail a week’s commitment five or six times a year
